the times of now

what is really going on in the world? bumble bees, global warming, war...?

I want to know what all this adds up to, if anything. does anyone else feel like we are coming to some kind of turning point? I don't mean the kind of change or point that we would come to by choice, but rather the kind one (or all) comes to out of necessity.

I live in mexico. I am an american (born and raised) living in mexico. I don't own a TV. I don't know what everyone is talking about or what the general consensus is. I just hear random statements, read random articles, that I come across and attempt to derive my thoughts on the status of the world and the people in it based on those.

hmmm....

I get the feeling that is not enough. he he... sometimes i'll say to a friend (what's up with “this thing in the world?” (sub in “this thing” for a current event I read about in an article) and they respond with, “well...”

and I end up with this feeling like I am alone in my feelings of intensity toward the situation. like am I the only one who thinks that world-wide (world-renowned and recognized “authorities” on the environment) organizations that are now saying that, “oh, yeah, global warming... uh, yeah... that's real” ... am I alone in thinking that that's kind of a big deal. I mean, is this a passing whim?

I don't mean to seem like I am trying to sound the alarm. on the contrary, I feel quite calm and expectant. expectant because, well, because it seems only natural. I mean, hey, do we believe physicists when they say that “belief” or “expectation” create reality? cause if we do, and if physicists are only just saying this now... does it not make sense that all this stuff we believe to be true is finally come to fruition?

nothing has really changed except our understanding of the world and time. understanding has become deeper and yet, it would seem, less clear, and time... well, time has passed.
