be certain that if you are sensitive to foreign substances entering your body, you will be awake at a quarter to four if you drink coffee at 11 pm and continue doing so....
my head is full of thoughts. I long to communicate with the world at large. I want my world view to be challenged - in a friendly way. I am not looking for an argument, rather an expanded view on the world.
like, what do people in india think about labor being outsourced to their country because it is cheaper to pay for labor in india than it is in most parts of the world. or what do the chinese feel about living in the most populated part of the world and being viewed as a “potential threat” should the “world” go to war?
all I can do is speak for myself as an american. what is my voice worth anyway? what does the world really think of americans? do most people think the people who live in america agree with what its government is doing? do most people think that the government acts on its own accord? what does the “democracy” of america mean to the rest of the world?
I am starting to feel, in a general sense, that people (as nations, cities and communities) are being widdled down to individuals. that we are beginning to realize our part or place in the whole of things.... how cool is that?
hmmm .... would be even cooler if I knew if that was true. lol

the times of now
what is really going on in the world? bumble bees, global warming, war...?
I want to know what all this adds up to, if anything. does anyone else feel like we are coming to some kind of turning point? I don't mean the kind of change or point that we would come to by choice, but rather the kind one (or all) comes to out of necessity.
I live in mexico. I am an american (born and raised) living in mexico. I don't own a TV. I don't know what everyone is talking about or what the general consensus is. I just hear random statements, read random articles, that I come across and attempt to derive my thoughts on the status of the world and the people in it based on those.
hmmm....
I get the feeling that is not enough. he he... sometimes i'll say to a friend (what's up with “this thing in the world?” (sub in “this thing” for a current event I read about in an article) and they respond with, “well...”
and I end up with this feeling like I am alone in my feelings of intensity toward the situation. like am I the only one who thinks that world-wide (world-renowned and recognized “authorities” on the environment) organizations that are now saying that, “oh, yeah, global warming... uh, yeah... that's real” ... am I alone in thinking that that's kind of a big deal. I mean, is this a passing whim?
I don't mean to seem like I am trying to sound the alarm. on the contrary, I feel quite calm and expectant. expectant because, well, because it seems only natural. I mean, hey, do we believe physicists when they say that “belief” or “expectation” create reality? cause if we do, and if physicists are only just saying this now... does it not make sense that all this stuff we believe to be true is finally come to fruition?
nothing has really changed except our understanding of the world and time. understanding has become deeper and yet, it would seem, less clear, and time... well, time has passed.

first post
so here begins a blog. hold on... I must turn up the music.... that's better. proton radio recording - very nice.
how does one begin a blog? hmm... an introduction? I think the reader should get to know the writer over time so I will spare you that. I am deep in thought about life, God and friendships. it would seem the three are intricately connected. I am called to love my God first and my neighbor second. who is my neighbor?... it would seem that anyone in the world is really... wow, that is so post-modern. lol....
it's fun to be fashionable. I always thought that I would be a “hippie” - whatever that really means. but here I find myself, here I am, reading magazines, painting my toenails, putting on lipstick and doing it with the abandon of one who has forgotten how there are many other things in the world so much more important.... ha ha ha
life is too diverse to just simmer in one type of existence for all time, and yet... I believe we are called to do just that. not that we should just read magazines and paint our toes, rather that we should find a path of righteousness and follow it for the rest of our lives.
subtleties...
tangents....
ebb and flow.....
there is more to this walk than meets the eyes. science desires to meet up with spirituality and spirituality intends to walk alongside science. they seem designed to do so and, if one desires to look at them as such, they do so perfectly, “science,” physics, tells us that.
this life is what we believe it is, or rather “reality” exists only in our heads. using words can be tricky as only experience can perfectly describe wisdom, or truth. only through experience can one be certain of a truth and often times it takes many experiences complimenting and conflicting each other to substantialize a truth.
